In 2007, Jon and his family started appearing in their reality show, and it continued running until 2009 when Jon and his wife Kate separated. He started working in various companies to earn a living. As of 2011, he was working at Green Point Energy, Pennsylvania, where he was installing solar panels. In 2013, he started working as a waiter before proceeding into DJing. Three years later, he landed a job as a cook at T.G.I but then donated his earnings to charity. As of 2018, Jon was experiencing financial struggles after his ex-wife sued him to pay 132,000 dollars.
