Her initial song “Gypsy Girl” caught the attention of David Massey, a record executive and he linked Jessie to L.A. Reid. She then auditioned for Redi and ended up landing a record contract with Mercury Records.
However, her record executive wanted her to sound like Britney Spears while Jessie was more interested in making a country record. The album ended up creating mixed reactions from critics and didn’t perform as expected. Nonetheless, one of its single, “Wanted” ranked on the Top 40 charts.
The album also helped Jessie James tour the Middle East and interacted with entertainers such as Kid Rock and even performed for U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East areas. Jessie then stood firm on wanting to focus on country music and she eventually released her EP “Comin’ Home” in 2014.
Jessie has also established herself as an actress outside her music career. For instance, she appeared in “Eric & Jessie: Game On” series that ran for three seasons until 2017.
