Meet Declan James McMahon, the Grandson of Vince McMahon, the Founder of WWE

declan james mcmahon - 6

Declan James McMahon is the son of American professional wrestler and businessman Shane McMahon. His grandfather, Vince McMahon, is the co-founder of the WWE. He partnered with his wife Linda to start the wrestling promotion brand.

Declan was born on February 13, 2004, to the wrestler and his wife, Marissa. He has other siblings, including Kenyon Jesse and Rogan Henry. Most people would have expected Declan to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a wrestler. However, he chose a different path. Despite being so passionate about wrestling, Declan decided to focus on football, and he today plays as a running-back for Indiana.

Early Life and Education

Declan James McMahon was born into a rich family that had invested so much in wrestling, and all he knew was wrestling. When he was an infant, he appeared in several promotional videos relating to wrestling. Additionally, his father and grandfather liked taking him to various wrestling and promotional events.

When he came of age, Declan enrolled in a nearby school, and given his family’s influence and affluence, he must have studied in one of the most prestigious schools in the neighborhood. After elementary education, Declan proceeded to Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn. While in high school, Declan participated in various co-curricular activities, but his main focus was football. He played as a running back, and he helped his team proceed to various championships.

After graduating from high school, Declan took to his social media handles where he noted that he had a great time at Poly Prep; the four years were the best years of his life. Declan is now a student at Indiana University where he plays as a running back for the school’s football team.

From Wrestling to Football

From a young age, Declan has always appeared in wrestling events. Besides, he did several promotional videos for wrestling as a baby. As such, most people expected him to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a wrestler. However, he chose a different path- he is now a football player.

However, he passionately talks about wrestling with his friends and teammates, and there is a probability that in the future, he might venture into wrestling. On many occasions, he has talked about how he wishes that he held wrestling belts with his friends in school.

His Father

Declan went on to wrestling courtesy of his father, Vince McMahon. Vince wanted his son to inherit the family business, and as such, it was natural for Shane to take a position in the family business. Shane ventured into wrestling in the late 1980s. He started as a referee before moving up the ranks.

He later began wrestling and had feuds with several wrestlers, including Bobby Lashley. Additionally, he has participated in several WWE matches facing various wrestlers, including Brock Lesner, The Rock, and Matt Hardy, among several other wrestlers. Besides wrestling, Shane engages in various business ventures, and hopefully, someday, Declan and his younger brother will take over these family businesses.
