5 Cool Activities for Your Bangkok Holiday

  1. Cocktails in a sky bar – There are quite a few rooftop bars in Bangkok and Google can help you locate them. The skyline is awesome and with a cool breeze, you can enjoy your favourite cocktails while admiring a panoramic vista of the city. If you stay at a hotel near Sukhumvit, you are right next to the BTS system and never far from one of the top skyline bars.
  2. Dinner on the Chao Phraya River – All of the major hotels along the river have large boats that depart every evening for a 90-minute cruise to admire Bangkok at night. The buffet dinner is something to savour, while there is usually a traditional Thai dancing performance midway through the cruise. The famous Buddhist temples are illuminated and provide a visual spectacle that you won’t forget in a hurry!
  3. Guided bicycle tour – You can find the tour operator with a Google search and book your spot on a 4-hour bike tour that takes in the best of Bangkok. You can get a free map at the entrance and there are exchange booths nearby. This is a great place to buy all your souvenirs and prices are very reasonable. The market is right next to Jatuchak Park and every taxi driver knows where that is.
  5. Night entertainment – Bangkok nightlife is famous and there are exclusive clubs on Ratchada Avenue and loud discos around Khaosan Road if you are into dancing the night away. There are some cool jazz clubs (Google can help you find locations), plus there are a few rooftop bars that offer panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline. If you stay in a Sukhumvit hotel, you are never far from the action and the BTS runs through this section of the city.
